IPICS have introduced the online Foundations of Inventory Management (FIM) course, to be completed by Self-Study.
The Online Foundations of Inventory Management (FIM) course has been designed by ASCM (APICS) to reduce knowledge gaps, use standard terminology developed by the industry and enhance internal communications across the extended supply chain.

As part of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) collect maintenance points for your existing APICS CPIM, CSCP, CLTD or CTSC Certifications
Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD), Certified in Transformation for Supply Chain (CTSC)
Foundations of Inventory Management (FIM) covers the following modules:
Module 1: Operations Management
Module 2: Introduction to Inventory Management
Module 3: Purpose & Function of Inventory
Module 4: Inventory Replenishment Management
Module 5: Inventory Replenishment Techniques & Inventory Performance
Module 6: Lean Inventory – Theory and Practice
Module 7: Introduction to Purchasing and Procurement
Module 8: Sourcing Strategies
Module 9: Purchase Order Management and Performace Measurement
The online Foundations of Inventory Management (FIM) course, to be completed by Self-Study, includes the following:
ASCM FIM e-Learning System: online course material and case studies accompanied with a series of questions and quizzes facilitating discussion, online access for one year
APICS Dictionary App can be downloaded to your smartphone and as a pdf.
Course price for the Foundations of Inventory Management (FDL) course is €200 per course participant (this course price includes Joint ASCM / IPICS Membership with no discounts of €100), with online access for one year. The course participant is entitled to collect 27 certification maintenance points towards maintaining an already existing APICS certification.
Course price for all six Foundations of Supply Chain Management courses is €300 per course participant (this course price includes Joint ASCM / IPICS Membership with no discounts of €100), with online access for one year. With access to all six Foundations courses the course participant is entitled to collect 135 certification maintenance points towards maintaining an already existing APICS certification.
If there is sufficient demand we will run an online Foundations of Distribution and Logistics (FDL) course which would be given by an officially recognised APICS instructor.
